My Professional Development At East Central University

The last four years of my life have been a personal challenge for me because I have been living in foreign country. During these time, I had to adjust and learn a new culture by improving my communication skills and understanding the way that people react to specific situations. Moreover, while working on my professional development at East Central University, I have had to overcome the difficulties of being an international student. Some people (sometimes including myself) would think of these difficulties as a disadvantage; however, I consider these complications of being international as a challenge. Therefore, these challenges make me work harder than anybody else, because I like to prove myself to people with my actions, work ethics, and show that I am as proficient and capacitated as any other student. As I mentioned before, the main challenge that I had to overcome was the communication which it represent a vital skill on my profession. As an athletic training student, I was required to perform daily communicate with athletes, coaches and other athletic training personnel about athletes injuries and other problems related with the well-being of the patient. Due to the importance of communicating vital information to others I was determined to work as hard as anybody else, so I can had that personal satisfaction of doing my job well.
